Librarians from Holt, Liberty, and Timberland high schools sponsored their fifth annual “Battle of the Books Competition” on March 11. To be eligible to compete, students read the fifteen Gateway Nominees for this year, then participated in their school’s “Battle of the Books Competition,” answering 45 questions about the books. Each high school sent the top seven winners of the preliminary rounds to the District-wide competition at Liberty, where all three teams came prepared for battle! The questions were prepared by District librarians and library assistants, and the students answered 10 rounds of 10 questions in a buzzer-style game show format. Timberland won the competition, defeating Holt by one question, with Liberty coming in third. Way to go, Wolves!
