Congratulations to recent Timberland (and Lewis & Clark) grad Jeffery Davis who was honored with a mikeroweWORKS Foundation scholarship to attend the SkillsUSA 54th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 25-30. Mike Rowe himself presented Jeffrey with the award, which covered his expenses to attend the conference. Davis earned a spot at the national competition after winning first place in the state competition in April. More than 15,000 students, teachers, education leaders and representatives from 600 national corporations, trade associations, businesses and labor unions participated in the national conference where the best career and technical students from across the country competed. Davis was one of six Lewis & Clark Career Center students who qualified for the national event. He finished 29th in the nation representing Missouri in the Electrical Construction Wiring competition. Davis currently works full-time for Tri-Tech Automation in Moscow Mills and will be taking night courses through the International Electrotechnical Commission to become an IEC Certified Professional Electrician.
