Congratulations to Timberland Journalism students who earned state and national journalism honors over the course of last school year, including one yearbook entry that finished in the top three in the country in the Quill and Scroll competition.
Additional national recognition for the 2017-18 edition of Timberland’s “Wolf Tracks” yearbook included a first place finish in the American Scholastic Press Association Yearbook contest, earning “Perfect Performer” by Herff Jones and two spreads were selected for Herff Jones’ 2019 Portfolio Showcase. Timberland’s yearbook staff also received three marks of distinction for coverage, design, and photography from the National Scholastic Press Association. Several students won individual awards, as well. Recent graduate Alyssa Biles was a national winner in the Quill and Scroll Student Life Photography category for her solar eclipse photos; recent grad Jessica Spivey was a national winner in the Academic Spread category for her photos of the Timberland band; and 2017-18 graduate Rachel Geisel earned third place in the nation for her Student Life Spread about the solar eclipse.
