Students Sam Ellefson, Haley Williams, Jordan Grassmuck, and Business Teacher Carrie Seiler recently presented about Timberland's Design Lab at the annual Midwest Education Technology Conference (METC) at the St. Charles Convention Center. The Design Lab creates videos, sports programs, the Timberland webpage, and much more for Timberland High School, as well as for the district and community.
EducationPlus sponsors the annual METC conference each February which draws over 2,200 leaders and educators from the Midwest and beyond. The event features regional and national experts who introduce participants to the latest trends and best practices in the area of education technology. Senior Haley Williams was also part of a panel discussion on digital citizenship with ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) President Bill Bass and authors Michael Cohen and Tara Martin.
Presenters and attendees from Missouri, Illinois and beyond attend METC each year to interact with experts in the field, learn from neighboring schools and share best practices. It is estimated that over 400,000 students are impacted by this program each year, as teachers across all major disciplines return to classrooms and integrate new practices in education technology to deepen student learning.
