Izzy Ackley is a Back-to-Back State Champion!
Timberland High School senior Izzy Ackley added the title of back-to-back state champion to her resumé at the girls swimming and diving Class 2 Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) State Meet on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2023, at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters, Mo.
Ackley broke her own Class 2 record in the 100-yard backstroke during prelims with a time of 52.72, also setting the school and overall state records. She took home the gold in finals with a time of 53.78, which was faster than her winning time of 54.46 last year.

She placed second in the state in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.57 and broke the Timberland school record in prelims with a time of 55.27.
Ackley finished third alongside her teammates Emma Wisker, Brooke Gustafson, and Emma Thornburgh in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:48.94; the relay team broke the school record in prelims with a time of 1:47.94.
Senior Emma Wisker also secured several state medals, finishing fourth in the 100 breast and seventh in the 100 free.
The team finished tenth overall in the state.
The state meet followed an impressive team performance at GACs, where the Wolves won the South Division team title for the fourth consecutive season.
