About WSD
-
We are home to one early childhood center, 12 elementary schools, four middle schools, and four high schools. We also have adaptive and alternative learning centers.
With an average growth of 500 students per year for the past twenty years, we were the fastest-growing District in Missouri for the last two decades.

WSD is located in St. Charles County and is geographically located in the western part of the county or 40 miles west of downtown St. Louis. The county boasts a good blend of commercial, industrial, and residential growth. The District is home to corporate offices and industries such as General Motors (sole producer of GM's full-size van), MasterCard Worldwide, and CenturyLink Telephone Operations. The District serves an 89-square mile area including all or part of Dardenne Prairie, Foristell, Lake Saint Louis, O'Fallon, and Wentzville.
OUR DISTRICT IS HIGHLY RATED IN MISSOURI AND NATIONALLY, AND WE’RE HOME TO NATIONAL AWARD-WINNING STAFF AND STUDENTS.
We've been named to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Top Workplaces list five times since 2012.
As the world of education continues to change, educating the whole child will ensure each student is prepared for the opportunities and challenges of today and tomorrow. Our District created a Portrait of a WSD Learner to describe the successful characteristics and actions to build eight competencies within the WSD educational setting: collaborator, communicator, connected, resilient, healthy/safe, creator, problem solver, and knowledgeable. We are committed to providing opportunities to grow these competencies for both students and staff through teaching and learning experiences.
