    Parents As Teachers Mission Statement

    To Provide the Information, Support, and Encouragement Parents Need to Help Their Children Develop Optimally During the Crucial Early Years of Life.

    The Parents As Teachers Program Is a Free and Voluntary Early-learning Program for Parents with Children from Birth to School Age. the Program Is Run on the Premise That Parents Are Their Children's First and Most Influential Teachers. the Program Offers Information and Guidance Before a Baby Is Born; Personal Visits by Certified Child Development Specialists; Group Meetings with Other Parents to Gain New Insights, Share Experiences, and Discuss Topics of Interest; Information on What to Look for and Expect As a Child Grows and Develops; and Periodic Check-ups of a Child's Development, Including Educational, Sensory (Hearing and Vision), and Social-emotional Development.
