The WSD Board of Education has approved the hiring of Susan Dawson as Director of Accounting, effective July 1, 2021. She is replacing Emilie Vaughan who has been named the new Director of Business Services in the Webster Groves School District.

Ms. Dawson is currently the Chief Financial Officer for the Valley Park School District where she has worked since 2016. Prior to joining Valley Park, she was the Director of Accounting for the Wentzville School District from 2008 to 2016. Ms. Lauren-Dawson served as the Financial Reporting Manager for the Rockwood School District and as a Grant Accountant for Special School District.

I am thrilled to join such a thoughtful, intentional, and dedicated team as the next Director of Accounting,” shared Dawson. “I am committed to public education and l look forward to rekindling old relationships, forging new relationships and partnerships, and supporting the students, teachers, staff, administrators, and community of the Wentzville School District.”  

Ms. Lauren-Dawson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Religious Studies from the University of California, Riverside. She holds an MBA with an Accounting emphasis from the University of Missouri St. Louis where she was a Beta Gamma Sigma Business School Student Honor Society member. Susan is involved in local professional networks such as the Association of School Business Officials International and the Missouri Association of School Business Officials.
