In-person Learning
Students who choose this option will potentially return to their school in the fall with health and safety precautions. If you want your child to attend in person, choose this as your option. If we need to close down a classroom, a school or the entire District because of a COVID-19 outbreak, our in-person students and teachers would move together to Virtual Learning (Level 3) or Blended Learning (Level 2) depending on the rate of transmission in our community.
Please refer to the Roadmap to Reopening Plan for details about instruction at each level of in-person learning.

WSD Virtual Academy
The WSD Virtual Academy will be very different than the extended school closure virtual learning students experienced in the spring. The WSD Virtual Academy will include:
- A full course schedule for all students,
- a full day of instruction,
- class assignments, and/or learning activities,
- a structured schedule that students will be expected to adhere to daily,
- grading & assessment practices consistent with in-person learning,
- required attendance for live instruction sessions
- Younger students will need support at home to participate
To enroll in the WSD Virtual Academy, students will be automatically enrolled for a full academic year. Enrollment changes can only be made at the end of a semester. If you choose to enroll your student for the first semester, they will remain enrolled until at least the end of that semester.
Elementary (Grades K-6) will be enrolled in the WSD Virtual Academy with a WSD Virtual teacher who will serve as their “homeroom” and core curriculum instructor. Secondary (Grades 7-12) will be enrolled in a combination of Fuel Education, Launch, and WSD Virtual courses, which will be facilitated by various Missouri certified teachers.

Our goal is to provide high-quality instruction and learning opportunities in a clean and safe environment for students and staff. The District’s intent is to begin at Level One for the start of the school year with in-person learning, but we fully recognize that may need to change at any time based on the rate of transmission in our community and the guidance from health officials.
Parents who are new to the District and enrolling their students have two options to choose from for the school year: in-person learning with phases that will change depending on the health conditions in the community and in our schools, or 100% virtual learning.
- The in-person learning option for grades Pre-K through 12 has three phases:
- Level 1: Students attending in-person five days a week;
- Level 2: A blended model designed for students to attend in-person learning two days a week, with at-home activities two days a week and virtual instruction one day a week, thereby reducing the number of students in school by approximately half on four days. All students would attend virtually on Wednesdays in order to sanitize in between groups of students; and
- Level 3: 100% virtual learning for all students.
- The WSD Virtual Academy will be 100% online learning with teachers providing quality virtual instruction. Your student will be enrolled for the 2020-2021 school year and you will need to commit to at least the first semester if you choose this option.
New families log into the Parent Portal to choose in-person (Option 1) or the WSD Virtual Academy (Option 2). There is also a transportation questionnaire we need you to complete as well. Here are the instructions for accessing those forms:
Login to Student360 and click on the "Parent" tab. Once you login, click on “View” on the yellow banner that states "Required e-Forms have not been submitted." The required eForms will be displayed on the web page. Once you complete the required forms and submit them, you will be asked to confirm your response. Responses cannot be changed, once submitted. *Please note: the Student360 mobile application for iOS and Android does not support eForms at this time.
