A+ ProgramThe A+ Program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated high schools who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school, or certain private two-year vocational/technical schools. There are also numerous four year universities in Missouri that will offer some scholarship money for students who complete the A+ Program.

Your tutoring hours are a form of community service, which is something selective universities and scholarship committees will consider when evaluating applications.
The following list describes the requirements you must fulfill to be eligible for the A+ Program scholarship:
◊ Be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen or lawfully present in the U.S.
◊ Enter into a written agreement with your high school prior to graduation.
◊ Attend a designated A+ high school for 2 years prior to graduation.
◊ Graduate with an overall grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. (non-weighted)
◊ Have at least a 95% attendance record overall for grades 9-12.
◊ Perform at least 50 hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring in the Wentzville district with a Wentzville employee, of which 25% may include job shadowing. The student must attend an A+ Tutor Training before earning A+ hours. The tutoring procedures and job shadow guidelines will be explained at the tutor training. Training is open to sophomores through seniors only and you MUST sign up in the guidance office.
◊ Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the unlawful use of drugs and/or alcohol.
◊ File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) senior year online @ www.fafsa.gov.
◊ Achieve a score of proficient or advanced on the Algebra 1 End of Course Exam or a higher level DESE approved End of Course Exam in the field of mathematics.

All documentation must be submitted to the A+ Coordinator by May 1st of senior year.
You may use A+ funds in the spring, however you will have to pay for your semester up front and be reimbursed by the state later in the spring. This is due to the time schedule for reimbursement. See Mrs. Nielsen for more information.
If you are graduating early, all documentation must be submitted by your last attendance day.
Once you have completed the A+ program and graduated from Timberland:
The A+ incentive grant may be available for a period of four years after high school graduation. To maintain A+ eligibility during that time, a participating student must enroll and attend a Missouri community college or public vocational or technical school on a full-time basis and maintain a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average.
