Wentzville Fire Protection District Named 2024-25 WSD Community Partner of the Year
April 15, 2025
The Wentzville School District named the Wentzville Fire Protection District (WFPD) its 2024-25 Community Partner of the Year in a surprise announcement April 15.
For the past 11 years, the WFPD has raised funds and provided hundreds of free coats to WSD students in need through its community outreach program. To date, it has supplied more than 5,500 coats to WSD students through Operation Warm so that students in need have a coat to keep them warm in the winter.
The WFPD teams up with the WSD to reward elementary students who have excellent attendance and have laid the groundwork for future success. During the last weeks of the school year, one lucky fifth grader from each elementary school gets a ride to school on a WFPD fire truck as a reward for having the best K-5 attendance in their school.
During October, WFPD visits all the elementary schools to talk with kindergarten and second-grade students about fire prevention, teaching students how to stay safe in the event of a fire.
“The Wentzville Fire Protection District is committed to serving and protecting our community through fire protection, prevention, education, and community outreach,” a nominator said. “Their long-standing partnership with the WSD is a testament to our shared commitment to meeting the needs of our students and their families, and to creating a school and community where all are empowered to thrive and grow.”
