WSD Announces Lori Boatman as 2024-25 District Teacher of the Year
Jan. 23, 2025
The WSD announced Lori Boatman, sixth grade social studies teacher at North Point Middle, as the 2024-25 Wentzville School District Teacher of the Year.
“Lori does so much for her students and for the teachers at NPMS,” said Dr. Kelly Mantz, North Point Middle principal. “She has a treasure trove of resources that she is willing to share to help others become better teachers.”
Boatman has worked for the WSD for more than 14 years.
She serves as the NMPS Building Technology Lead, and she often presents during professional development days. She is always willing to help teachers before school, after school, and during her plan time. She also serves on the District Social Studies curriculum writing committee. Boatman sponsors National Junior Honor Society and helps NPMS students find ways to give back to her school while growing individually in scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
“She feels that students learn better when they participate in hands-on learning and she finds unique ways for them to experience this as often as she can. She has strong relationships with her colleagues as well as present and former students,” Dr. Mantz shared.
During the District Teacher of the Year selection process, every school in the WSD chose its Teacher of the Year and announced it during American Education Week, Nov. 18-22.
