May 2, 2024
This March, student artwork from across the Wentzville School District was celebrated and showcased as part of National Youth Art Month.
Eleven WSD students from Stone Creek Elementary and Frontier Middle School were selected to have their artwork featured in the state capitol building during the Missouri Art Education Association (MAEA) 2024 Youth Art Month exhibition. This year's theme was Dreaming Through Art. They were honored at a ceremony at the capitol building on March 4 in Jefferson City, Mo.
Stone Creek first-grader Alice Pan was awarded Best of Show in the Primary Division. Frontier Middle seventh-grader Jesselin Sudhan was awarded Best in Show in the Middle School Division.

Additionally, kindergartener Chloe Daugherty from Stone Creek Elementary had her artwork selected to be displayed in the prestigious Senate Student Art Exhibition. Hosted by the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education (MAAE)/MAEA, this annual event showcases student work chosen by senators from all 34 Missouri districts. The selected pieces are then displayed for a full year in the hall leading from the senate parking lot to the capitol grounds. Chloe was recognized in a ceremony at the state capitol building on April 4. There, she had the opportunity to meet Senator Travis Fitzwater, District 10, who selected her work to represent his district this year.
WSD students also earned inner-district recognition for their artistic talents. Art teachers from across the District selected student artwork to represent their building and be displayed in Berrey-Place Center (BPC) for the next year. Students were honored at a ceremony at BPC on March 19. These talented artists are listed below.
