Holt High School Cheer Celebrates Historic Nationals Qualification

February 06, 2024

The 2023-2024 Holt High School (HHS) varsity cheerleading team etched their names in school history books, taking the floor at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Nationals Competition held Jan. 19-21 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, in Dallas, Tx.

Fueled by the previous season's success, the team dove headfirst into rigorous training sessions and practices. Their dedication paid off when they secured a coveted spot at the NCA Nationals during a summer camp, making history as the first HHS team to qualify.

With football season over, the Indians honed their competition routine tirelessly, transforming the spring floor into their training ground. Their hard work culminated in a trip to Dallas, where they were finally ready to step onto the national championship stage.

The announcer's voice calling "Holt High School!" echoed through the arena, marking a momentous occasion for the team. Competing in the Varsity Large Crowd Leading Division, the Indians delivered a stellar performance, securing an impressive 8th place finish out of 19 talented teams.

"We are incredibly proud of what these young women have achieved," head coach Lauren Beck beamed. This historic feat adds another chapter to the illustrious legacy of Holt High School. The cheerleaders' unwavering dedication and teamwork demonstrate the power of pursuing dreams with passion.
