Ami Schulte Named 2023 MOSHAPE Missouri Outdoor Adventure Teacher of the Year

Ami Schulte, Timberland High School (THS) physical education and health teacher, received the 2023 MOSHAPE Missouri Outdoor Adventure Teacher of the Year Award sponsored by the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation.

 

“The Timberland staff describe Ami as someone that goes above and beyond for any staff member or student at Timberland,” said Dr. Kyle Lindquist, Timberland High School principal. “Ami’s high energy and positive approach brings smiles to student and staff members' faces when they see her. Mrs. Schulte’s energy, enthusiasm, positivity, and love for students is why she is the Missouri Outdoor Adventure Teacher of the Year.”

 

Ami has been a proud member of Team WSD for a little more than 20 years and has worked in several positions within the PE/Health department during that time.  Currently, she is the Lead Teacher for PE/Health K-12, teaching Outdoor Pursuits and Yoga at THS, and she is gearing up to coach Track at Liberty High School.

 

Ami holds a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and a Master of Science in education from Missouri Baptist University, in addition to certifications in PE K-12 and Health 9-12.

 

Ami received her award at the annual MOSHAPE Convention held at the Four Seasons in The Lake of the Ozarks. With the wonderful history that Ami continues to build with the WSD and THS, it was fitting that she received her award during a convention with the theme “Our Time, Our Legacy 2023.
