Veterans Day

Veterans Day Assembly 2018

Dear Parents and Students,

In honor of Veterans Day, Boone Trail Elementary will be recognizing men and women who have served or are currently serving our country in the armed forces at a special assembly.  Due to the overwhelming popularity of this event, our Veterans will be honored at two separate assemblies. They will be held on:

Thursday, November 9, for students with last names A-L

Friday, November 10, for students with last names M-Z.

We encourage all our K-6th students to invite any family members, friends, or neighbors who are Veterans. Due to space limitations, only 2nd-6th grade students will attend the assemblies. Any student in Kindergarten and 1st grade inviting a Veteran to our assembly, will attend with the 2nd-6th grade students.

NEW THIS YEAR...

If your child will be inviting a Veteran to attend the assembly, please fill out the electronic form linked below by Thursday, November 2nd.

ASSEMBLY DAY:

The assembly will begin at 8:45 a.m., and all Veterans are welcome to begin arriving to check-in at 8:00 a.m.  Immediately following the assembly, refreshments will be served in the cafeteria for our guests and their special student.

Please plan on arriving early. There will be reserved/handicapped parking in the first two front rows of our parking lot for those Veterans who may need assistance or require a close parking space.

To honor all our Veterans, attending the assembly or not, students are encouraged to fill out an “America is Free – Because We Served” form. These will be on display on the bulletin board in front of the cafeteria.  All pictures will be returned to students, so please make sure the Veteran’s full name, the child’s name, and the teacher’s name is filled in on the form.

Thank you for helping our students to understand the contribution that our country’s Veterans have made!
