Holt Theatre Presents The Curious Savage
October 25, 2021
The Holt High School Theatre Department will present John Patrick’s “The Curious Savage” on November 11, 12, and 13.
Mrs. Savage has been left ten million dollars by her husband and wants to make the best use of it, despite her grown-up stepchildren’s efforts to get their hands on it. Knowing that the widow’s wealth is now in negotiable securities and seeing they cannot get hold of the future, the stepchildren commit her to a sanatorium hoping to “bring her to her senses.” While in the sanatorium, Mrs. Savage meets various social misfits who just can't adjust themselves to life – people who need the help she can provide. The mood is high comedy, and the audience is left with a feeling that the neglected virtues of kindness and affection have not been entirely lost in a world that seems at times motivated only by greed and dishonesty.
Cast members include Bird Adams, Abbey Bancroft, Brandon Beames, Juliana Castellano, Samantha Crouch, Caleb Gee, Theodore Hanson, Paris Heaver, Zach Hinds, Aiden Mayer, Ashlee Nichol, Mitchell Reed, and Dahlia Swafford.
The play is under the stage management of Alison Robertson, assisted by Hailey Smith. The production of “The Curious Savage” by John Patrick will be performed at Holt High School C.H. Jones Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on November 11, 12, and 13, 2021. Tickets are $6 for students and $8 for adults. Purchase tickets online.
