WSD Schools Make Teacher of the Year Announcements
District schools each announced their Teacher of the Year recipient for 2018-19 in conjunction with American Education Week November 12-16. Candidates are judged on the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues. Selection is also based on their ability to inspire and educate students of all backgrounds and abilities. On December 20th, the DISTRICT Teacher of the Year - sponsored by Central Methodist University - will be announced at the Board of Education meeting. American historian Henry Adams once said, “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” How fortunate we are to have so many exceptional educators in the WSD.
