North Point High School Boys Tennis First State Qualifiers in School History

North Point High School seniors Ian Malinofsky and Ethan Schott made history by being the first Tennis players in school history to qualify for the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 2 Boys Individual State Championship held May 22-23 at Cooper Tennis Complex, in Springfield, Mo.

Malinofsky and Schott qualified for the championship by defeating Fort Zumwalt South’s #1 doubles team by a score of 6-7(4-7), 6-3, 15-13 in the district semi-final. Following their triumph at districts, they traveled to Springfield to take on a new level of competition. At State, they competed against Rolla (2-6, 2-6 Loss), Lincoln College Prep (FFT Win), and Platte County’s #1 Doubles teams (2-6, 5-7). They went 1-2 at State, coming just one win shy of the medal rounds.
