WSD Boys Swim and Dive Teams Make a Splash at State Championships

The Liberty High School (LHS) and Timberland High School (THS) boys swim teams made a strong showing at the 2024 Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 1 Swimming and Diving Championships, held Nov. 14-16 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. Six WSD athletes made it to the state championships to showcase their athletic abilities. 

LHS sophomore Elijah Quest led the way, finishing an impressive seventh place in the diving competition. Quest’s performance showcased his talent and potential for future success.

Junior Ryan Lipski also made a significant impact, securing a ninth-place finish in the 50  Free and 14th-place finish in the 100 Free.

The LHS team of Garrett Allen, Riley Lewis, Henry Carlson, and Ryan Lipski also competed at the state level in the 200 and 400 Free Relays, representing the school with pride.

Timberland High School (THS) senior Reed Treadway also made a notable appearance at the state meet. Treadway achieved personal best times in both the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breast, placing 19th and 22nd, respectively. Treadway, currently a THS record holder, showcased his dedication and hard work throughout the season.

Overall, the WSD swimming and diving teams had a successful state championship run, with individual and relay performances that highlighted the talent and determination of these young athletes.
