Progress as Promised: Holt Nurse’s Suite Renovation
July 01, 2024
Students at Holt High School (HHS) were greeted by more than just familiar faces when they entered the school doors for the 2023-2024 school year. Much like this summer, teams worked tirelessly to renovate the Nurse's Suite at HHS, bringing it up to date and meeting code requirements for students and staff at our flagship high school.
This renovation was completed on time and under budget thanks to the support of taxpayers and Proposition C funding.
Last summer, our Facilities Department collaborated with Hoener Associates Inc. and Aspire Construction to renovate the Nurse's Suite at HHS completely. The District has a long-standing relationship with Hoener Associates Inc., and has worked previously with Aspire Construction, renovating Timberland’s FACS classroom and most recently the renovation of Holt’s Metal Shop.
The original space was a mere 300 square feet, with a single-fixture toilet room and no separate treatment areas.
The complete renovation of the existing room included combining the adjacent classroom space, giving the suite a total of 1200 square feet of care area. This additional area allowed the team to add individual treatment stations, two bathrooms, a vented isolation room, a private consultation office, and several cot locations.
The expansion of the HHS nurse's suite provides better accessibility and privacy conditions while providing staff with the room and equipment necessary to serve and treat multiple students at any time.
This is one of many updates and renovations that were underway at HHS this year. The Industrial Arts Metal Shop classroom underwent a complete facelift, including new electrical service, LED lighting, room finishes, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC improvements. Soby Field, the football stadium, received a resurfacing to its running track.
Wentzville School District would like to express its appreciation to the voters who continue to support the WSD and who made the Holt High School Nurse’s Suite renovation possible. We’d also like to recognize all of the hard work of the District and building leadership; District facilities, maintenance, and custodial teams; the Board of Education; McClure Engineering, ASDG, and Bax Engineers; Aspire Construction Services; Hoener Associates, Inc.; and the City of Wentzville.
Make sure to stay tuned for more stories about what our Facilities Department has been up to since the final bell this school year!
