The Third Annual Wentzville Showcase Marks The Close of Marching Band Season 2022

The marching bands of all four high schools in the WSD had a great season this fall, bringing home many awards and a ton of pride to each of their schools and the District. As the football field lights start to dim and the uniforms are packed away, here is a look at the highlights of this year's marching season. 

 

Holt High School’s marching band competed in four competitions this season. The Marching Indians did outstanding at each competition and came home with three top three placements. 

 

  • Blue Springs South Kansas City Champions (Class 3A): 1st Place

    • Outstanding Visual

    • Outstanding Music

    • Outstanding General Effect 

  • Rock Bridge Marching Festival (Class 5A): 4th Place in prelims, 3rd Place in finals

  • Bands of America Super Regional (Class 2A): 34th out of 62 bands

    • Division “I” Rating

  • University of Central Missouri Festival Of Champions (Class 3A): 2nd in prelims, 6th in finals

    • Outstanding Color Guard

 

Liberty High School’s marching band competed in five competitions this season. The Liberty Eagle Regiment placed 19th out of 62 bands in the Bands of America competition, where they competed against several of their WSD counterparts. 

 

  • Timberland Marching Percussion Competition (Blue Division): 4th Place

  • Jaguar Pride Invitational (Blue Division): 3rd Place

    • Outstanding Auxiliary

  • Francis Howell Marching Invitational (Blue Division): 4th in prelims, 8th in finals

  • Gene Hunt Washington Marching Band Festival (Class 3A): 3rd in prelims, 11th in finals 

  • Bands of America Super Regional (Class 2A): 19th in prelims, 55th in finals 

    • Division 2 rating 

 

North Point High School’s (NPHS) marching band competed in four competitions this season. The increase in class size at NPHS has contributed to the Grizzly band's growth and ability to compete.

 

  • Francis Howell Invitational (Class 3A): 7th in finals 

  • Wright City Invitational (Class 4A): 1st in Field Show, Color Guard, and Drumline Competitions, 2nd in Parade Competition

    • Best Music 

    • Best Visual 

    • Best Color Guard

    • Best Drumline

  • Washington Invitational (Class 4): 12th in finals 

  • Francis Howell North Invitational (Black Division): 5th in finals 

    • Fan Favorite Award 

 

Timberland High School’s marching band competed in five competitions this season. The Marching Wolves secured four top-two placements in their divisions during this season's competitions.

 

  • Timberland Percussion Competition (Green Division): 1st Place 

    • Outstanding Soloist

    • Outstanding Tenor Soloist

    • Best Snare Line

  • Edwardsville Invitational (Class 3A): 1st Place

    • Best General Effect

    • Best Visual 

    • Best Percussion

    • Best Color Guard

  • Blue Springs South Kansas City Championships (Class A & Class B): 2nd in Gold Show

  • Fort Zumwalt North Invitational (Class 5): 2nd in prelims, 5th in finals

  • Bands of America Super Regional (Class 2A): 24th out of 62 bands

 

The season came to a close on Oct. 26 when all four bands came together for the third annual Wentzville Showcase.  This year the showcase was held at Liberty High School, and each band was given the opportunity to perform their award-winning pieces in front of a hometown crowd. There is truly something special about the way Wentzville is a big small town. Congratulations on a great season to each of these amazing marching bands.
