• District Opts Out of National School Lunch Program

    The WSD Child Nutrition Department has been hard at work planning new, delicious and nutritious options for this year's school meals. The WSD Board of Education voted unanimously earlier this year to opt out of the National School Lunch Program in an effort to improve meal offerings and increase the number of students who eat breakfast and lunch in our school cafes.

  • New Marketing Program

    The WSD has a new Marketing Plan which opens up advertising and partnership opportunities within the District that will benefit students in extra curricular and co-curricular activities.

  • 1:1 Access Initiative Expands to Middle Schools

    The WSD is expanding its 1:1 technology initiative to include seventh and eighth grade students beginning this school year. During the first two days of school, students were issued a personal Chromebook to use both at home and in school for the duration of their time in middle school.

  • New Early College Program

    New this year, high school juniors and seniors have an opportunity to enroll in a program that will allow them to begin work toward, or to fully complete, an Associate’s Degree through St. Charles Community College.

    The WSD has been named a Google for Education Reference District! According to Google, this distinction is reserved only for districts that demonstrate excellence and leadership through the innovative use of technology.

  • WSD Growth Continues

    The WSD continues to be the fastest growing school district in the State of Missouri in the 21st Century. The District is now the 11th largest public school district in the state with over 16,840 students, over 460 more students than this time last year.

  • WSD Welcomes 111 New Teachers

    This year we welcomed 111 new teachers to the WSD! We continue to enroll new students daily and they will be pleased to know our new class of teachers is the "cream of the crop" - given we had over 3,600 applicants for their positions.

  • HOME WORKS! Expands to More Schools

    Last year, the WSD began a partnership with St. Louis-based HOME WORKS!, the teacher home visit program, which was piloted in two schools: Heritage and Pearce Hall. This year, the program will expand to include Stone Creek Elementary and Prairie View Elementary.
