Educational Support Counselors

The Wentzville School District employs several Educational Support Counselors (ESCs).  The role of these counselors is to provide education, interventions, and support to remove barriers to learning and strengthen individual students’ ability to return to class for increased instructional time.  ESCs use assessment and intervention skills to keep students in classrooms and the educational environment where learning takes place.  For more information about Educational Support Counselors, contact Dave Salvatierra at davidsalvatierra@wsdr4.org.

Mental Health Resources

Addressing the mental health needs of students in school is extremely important because 1 in 10 adolescents will have a mental health issue serious enough to impact their function at home or school, per the Association for Children's Mental Health.
