We are committed to serving the needs of our students, both in the classroom and beyond the classroom. Many community partners participate in this effort, and we are grateful for the community's support of WSD students.

Operation Backpack - we have church partners and groups who adopt elementary, middle, and high schools and provide a bag of food every Friday for almost 500 students across the district to take home food over the weekend. These are our at-risk students who may not eat a nutritious meal at home without this assistance. If you would like to donate non-perishable food items, we can direct your donation to one or more of those churches to be used specifically for the program. 

Operation Breakfast - we have church partners and groups who provide breakfast items at our Alternative School. These students are also at risk and benefit from having donated breakfast items on hand to give them the best possible chance of being successful at school that day. We accept donations of breakfast items to support this program.

Operation Warm - for the past 11 years, the Wentzville Firefighters Community Outreach organization has raised funds and provided hundreds of free coats to WSD students in need each year. They have supplied over 5,500 coats to WSD students through Operation Warm. We accept donations of hats and gloves, which are distributed to students along with the coats. 

Student Assistance Fund - we use this fund to purchase clothing, shoes, school supplies when a counselor or administrator contacts us about an individual student with a specific need. When we receive community grants to benefit students, they go into this fund, and it is used to supplement (if necessary) our Back to School Fair and Holiday Assistance Programs. 

Holiday Assistance - each year in December, the WSD Holiday Assistance program helps to provide gifts for students in need and their families. Last year, over 350 families and more than 1,000 children received assistance in this charitable effort. The program works with businesses, community groups, churches and individuals to help make the upcoming holidays more enjoyable for struggling families. As part of this effort, we have an Adopt-a-Family program where you can purchase gifts for a family in need for the holidays or simply make a donation and we have volunteer shoppers who will purchase and wrap the gifts for a family.

Student Lunch accounts (Lunch Hero) - we are committed to serving the students of the WSD well-balanced, delicious meals. It is our hope and our intent that no child leaves the cafeteria hungry. Our schools have created lunch accounts to help families who are struggling to keep up with paying for school breakfast and lunch. 

Community Closet - also at our Alternative Program, we have an area for students who need personal care items - shampoo, soap, detergent, etc.; they accept donations of these items. 

Helping Hands - located at the Heritage Campus, this program provides support to students and families in need of assistance to help meet their basic needs. They accept donations of a variety of items, including clothing, school supplies, personal care items, and household items. 

Annual Back to School Fair - Corporate Sponsors pay $300 and their logo is placed on the bag used to distribute free school supplies to students. That event is the second weekend of August and this past year we were able to give away 2,500 bags filled with supplies to our students thanks to our sponsors and vendors at the Fair.

WSD Foundation fundraising events - The Wentzville Schools Foundation provides scholarships for students and grants for teachers through various fundraising efforts throughout the school year. For more information, click here.
